Materials: an amaryllis bulb potted in soil in a white metal container
Longevity: at least 8-12 weeks indoors

Amaryllis are popular flowering bulbs grown indoors during the winter months. The bulbs are stored in coolers until shipped, and when a recipient receives them and puts them in their home, the warmer temperature initiates bulb growth.

It is important that the recipient display the bulb INDOORS. The warm indoor temperature will trigger the bulb to grow. It will not grow outdoors.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

Care instructions are included with each amaryllis and can also be found in the FAQs on our website.

• Place the amaryllis indoors in bright light, such as a sunny window or bright room.

• Water the top 1-2 inches of soil when it feels dry. It should be watered sparingly. Do not keep it constantly wet.

• Turn the container periodically to encourage the stem to grow straight

• In several weeks, you'll see tall stems emerge, followed by spectacular blooms. Bulbs can take about 8-12 weeks to bloom. It is worth the wait!

• The stem may need to be staked up with a stick if it starts to fall to one side
