How We Make Our Fresh Evergreen Wreaths

Do you ever wonder what happens behind the scenes before your fresh evergreen wreath arrives magically at your door? It is pretty magical, but it also requires a tremendous amount of planning, creativity, and hard work to produce our beautiful products. This process also includes a lot of fun and laughter, and a little sweat in the height of the season when we’re working hard to bring the magic to you!

All of our products begin as an idea, often the result of a fun brainstorming session over donuts and lots of coffee. Much of our off-season time is devoted to the planning stages of product design. We review the previous season and consider many things including which products were customer favorites, the feedback we received, and current trends we’d like to implement. We always love our customers’ input and often utilize their ideas in creating and naming new products. It’s fun to create different styles with our designs: natural, fancy, rustic, whimsical, etc. This is done by experimenting with color, fabric patterns, decorations, and different greenery combinations. Once we get an idea we like and think our customers will love, a prototype is made and then perfected. We set about gathering the components we need to make wreath season happen again. This is the cycle of Lynch Creek Farm life, and we love it! Every year we create a collection of new products so that customers have fresh options while also retaining their favorites. While we have many customers who return year after year for our very well-loved best sellers, offering new products every year is an important part of what we do.

If environmental sustainability is important to you, we have good news! It is to us, too! The boughs we use for our live evergreen products come mostly from the beautiful Cascade Mountains here in Washington State on either permitted government or private land. Noble fir trees are never cut down when harvested but instead are trimmed on the lower branches to ensure the trees can keep on living and keep on giving. This generates revenue for local landowners, giving them a reason to protect their forest rather than opting to clear-cut, making this a win-win: happy trees and happy customers. When you order from Lynch Creek Farm, you are supporting environmental sustainability while also getting the highest quality products on the market.

But how are those beautiful fresh holiday wreaths actually made? Having fine-tuned the process over the years to ensure quality, consistency, and efficiency, we begin by using a wire frame, which provides strength and allows an abundance of fresh greens to be fastened together. Boughs are hand selected, trimmed, and organized in preparation for assembly. The artisan then uses these boughs and the frame to create the base of greenery on which we design our wreaths. We take great pride in the fact that our wreaths are extremely thick and lush, weighing approximately 7 to 8 pounds! That’s about twice the weight of our competitors’ wreaths. A fresh wreath from Lynch Creek Farm is very full, layered, and three-dimensional. Our wreaths are, without question, the highest quality evergreen products on the market. They are eye-catching and will look absolutely stunning on front doors during the holidays.

After the fresh base of greenery is hand-made, the wreath goes to the design department to receive its decorative elements. Decorations are carefully placed, creating the wreath’s unique charm and character.

Once decorated, it is delivered to the shipping department where final touches are added and wreaths are quality checked again. After a quick inspection, the live wreath receives its final touch, a quality hand-tied bow. Artisans have been cutting wire-edged ribbons and crafting them into gorgeous bows all year long. We special order all of our ribbon, much of which is customized for us. While it may need some "fluffing" out of the box, it will hold its shape beautifully (unlike other wreath ribbon which tends to flatten or is factory tied). Unmatched in appearance and quality to a machine-tied bow, our bows hold their shape not only in shipping, but also on your front door for the entire holiday season. A final inspection ensures every piece is in place, adjusted, and looking its best. The wreath is then carefully placed into a signature Lynch Creek Farm box and sent to final packaging. After printed materials are added, the box is folded and sealed. The fresh holiday wreath is now complete and on its way to the customer. It doesn't get much better than giving (and receiving!) Lynch Creek Farm’s fresh evergreen wreaths and centerpieces as Christmas gifts. They are unmatched in beauty, quality, fullness, and freshness, and are delivered right to your door!
